Threading Water

Many health authorities say that the average person should drink 8 8-ounce glasses of water a day. I’ll be the first to say I’m guilty of not doing that, but lucky for me I have an ample supply of clean water to drink from, but what about the people who don’t?

According to about 85% of the world’s population lives in the driest half of the planet. That leaves 783 million people without access to clean water. 6-8 million people die annually from water related diseases.

So yeah from that you can gather that clean water is important! It’s not just important but rather it’s essential to living a healthy life. But with so much of the world living without clean water, how do we keep this from happening? Well take a big sip of water and let me tell you about Threading Water.

Threading Water is an apparel company devoted to helping make clean water available to all. Every item sold helps provide one year of clean water for one person.

Unlike other companies, Threading Water strives to sustain not only their business, but also their communities. All the apparel sold on their site is made with the most comfortable and sustainable materials and like many of the clothing brands I’ve talked about on here; these clothes are devoid of any sweatshop involvement. The artisans are paid fairly and well.

Threading Water partners with Lifewater, a company that builds water wells for people who otherwise would not have access to safe drinking water. Threading Water makes donations to help fund the wells being built. And anyone can easily be a part of those donations as well, by simply ordering a t shirt you can help make someone’s 8 ounce glass of water a lot cleaner.
